Maine Campaign for Better Care kickoff

Southern Maine Agency on Aging
Southern Maine Long Term Care Working Group
March 24, 2010
2-4 p.m.

ALL ARE WELCOME

Dear Community members:

Southern Maine Agency on Aging has an upcoming program that may be of interest to the community. All are welcome; please come. No reservations needed. We all work with people and their caregivers everyday and know that any healthcare reform needs to ensure that our system of care provides better and more coordinated care for older adults with multiple health conditions and their caregivers. Joe Ditre, Executive Director from Consumers for Affordable Healthcare is kicking off “ The Maine Campaign for Better Care” at the SMAA Scarborough office on March 24th from 2-4 p.m. He is working in collaboration with the National Partnership for Women and Families to present the multi year, multi faceted Campaign that is supported by The Atlantic Philanthropies. This National Partnership for Women is a nonprofit, nonpartisan consumer advocacy organization that promotes access to quality health care, fairness in the workplace, and policies that help women and men meet the dual demands of work and family. Come and learn what this campaign is all about and just what healthcare reform can do to improve care. Most of all, hear what you can do and offer to make this a goal. We are fortunate that Joe and his group want to come and meet us and talk with us about their work. Please ask others to come as well…particularly “caregivers” you may know who could tell their stories and give a real account of what it is like to access healthcare. This is BIG and we need you to be there. See you on the 24th Warm Regards, Debbie DiDominicus.
