Health Insurance Counseling
The Southern Maine Agency on Aging offers counseling on health insurance at Introduction to Medicare Seminars, including Medicare D for residents approaching age 65 or older and living in York and Cumberland counties. All of Maine's Agencies on Aging and Legal Services for the Elderly offer this service, working closely with the Maine Bureau of Elder & Adult Services.

Our staff and Volunteer Medicare Advocates can assist you with decisions and questions about:

- Health insurance
- Supplemental insurance (Medigap)
- Health insurance paperwork
- Insurance coverage for care provided in your home or in a nursing home
- How paying for a nursing home can affect your home and your spouse
- Information and complaints about insurance agents and companies
